Stone treasures - In the heart of the Puy-de-Dôme, the royal domain of Randan (le domaine royal de Randan) and its medieval castle have been neglected for 70 years. However, a spring cleaning has been done for the tourists. The restoration of this listed historcal monument should allow it to welcome its furniture collection, a witness of the House of Orléans (la Maison d’Orléans). In the meantime, visitors will be able to appreciate its park and its wonderful architecture. This historical place is surrounded by local treasures, such as the frescoes of the Romanesque church of Jussat or the half-timbered dove cots, which are so common in the Limagne region. Another good example of these treasures is the built-on piles of constructions of Villeneuve-les-Cerfs.
